Description
Alden B. Dow designed this table for the George Duffy Residence in 1949. These replicas have been made by a local wood craftsman, Kevin Kram.
The wood Alden Dow chose most often was “fine vertical grain” Douglas Fir. It is a soft wood with an incredible even grain so to increase the durability multiple layers of (semi-gloss) Polyurethane have been applied to the finished product. The top is finished with a high gloss finish which adds additional durability because it dries harder than semi-gloss.
